Just because...

I've been hurt enough to know life is never fair.
Because a broken heart is still a heart, still beating.

Today I purposely left my umbrella at home, just so that I could walk in the rain. Just so I can feel every rain drops on my skin, just so that the atmosphere reminds me of home, to feel as if the world have a place for me, to inhale in all the memories, to be missed, then just walk forward.
People come in and out of our life every day, but they’re here to either teach us a lesson, to help us to see things we never see before, and to realize what kind of person we are. Sometimes, it’s painful when they leave, but grandpa once said “people can’t stay forever.”
I’m happy when dad had a huge smile on his face that night I took him out to dinner. Grandma’s voice took away all the worries even though time is running out, but she’ll always be there. Happiness exist when I randomly send “good morning and have a good day” to people, knowing it will put a smile on someone’s face. It exists when I get unexpected phone calls from Bac Loan, just asking how am I doing, or getting a text from my first love saying “the world is your oyster.”
My way of healing is to give, and give. Just because I’m lucky enough to wake up every morning, knowing that no matter what I do, I’ll come home to those that love me.Just because my heart smile when Jason said “you were the only one that called and cared” when he pushed the world away. Because I offered a complete stranger to sit at my table just so that they wouldn’t have to walk around. Because I like to randomly buy flower, candies & gum then dropped them off in front of Anna’s house for her, or writing notes to people because handwritten letters are much more meaningful.
I walked in the rain today and no one offer to share their umbrella with me. Now, whenever it rains, I’m going to offer someone to share my umbrella, just because. When you give, you gain back twice. There’s hope for the hopeless, and faith is always kind to those who believe. “Only a life lived for others is worth living.”
To live is to forgive, because perfect never exist. Because people will hurt you at least once, but it happens because human are entitled to make mistakes, open your heart to them. If someone goes beyond your expectation just to make you happy, you’re lucky, because not only that person loves you, they also teaching you how to love.
I’ve been broken, hurt, I’ve cry countless nights. I failed more than I can count with my fingers. But I’m not giving up. Because simply, it's life, without all the pain and hardship, life would just be a straight street, with no ending or purpose, as if you live every day without dreams. I once read a quote, “Life is like a mirror, if you smile at it, it’ll smile back at you.” So I’m smiling.
